Adding Keys

Direct from your iPhone or iPod touch

  • On your iPod or iPhone, launch iClone
  • Tap the ‘API Keys’ menu item
  • Tap the ‘Manage and import keys’ button to browse to https://support.eveonline.com/api/ and log in when prompted.
  • If necessary, create new API keys
  • Tap the ‘Install’ link next to a key you want to use.
  • You should see be returned to iClone and see the key in the list.
  • Repeat for any other keys you want to use
  • Return to the Main Menu, and finally tap the refresh button.
  • A refresh of all API derived data should now occur.

If you have both iClone and iClone lite installed, or have another app that uses the Eve API installed, the Install links may open the wrong app. In that case, you will have to manually cut and paste the Key ID and vCode into the Key Details page.

Address Book Import from a Mac

  • On a Mac that synchronises address books with your iPhone or iPod, open ‘Address Book’
  • Create a new contact:
    • Set the ‘company’ field to be ‘iClone’, leave all other details blank
  • Go to https://support.eveonline.com/api/ and log in if needed.
  • Create new API keys with the appropriate access levels for the iClone features you wish to use.
  • Cut and paste the ‘Key ID’ and ‘vCode’ into the ‘note:’ field for the iClone address book entry, putting a comma between them. There shouldn't be any spaces or other white-space present.
  • The Key ID should be a number
  • Repeat for all the keys you want, each key/vCode pair on a new line.
  • If you have other accounts:
    • Log out of the support pages via https://support.eveonline.com/Pages/Logout.aspx
    • Log in with the next account
    • Copy the Key ID / vCode again
    • In the ‘note:’ field in address book move the cursor to the end of the current entry, then hit return
    • Insert the new User ID / API Key pair
    • Repeat as needed
  • Finish editing the address book entry
  • Wait for this information to synchronise with your iPod or iPhone
  • On your iPod or iPhone, launch iClone
  • Tap the ‘API Keys’ menu item
  • Hit ‘Import Keys from Address Book’
  • Return to the main menu and tap the refresh button.
  • A refresh of all API derived data should now occur. This may take a while on the first run!
